San Francisco has such a rich history and so many amazing places to see! If you only have a few days there like I did, another place (besides the Golden Gate) that I recommend seeing is the Palace of Fine Arts. The original structure was part of the 1915 World's Fair and was rebuilt in the 1960's with reinforced concrete. The beautifully detailed architecture paired with the lovely lagoon makes for the perfect, peaceful place to escape the city. Wish we could've spent some more time here. Definitely would go back on the next visit! Tip from a Local: Lock your car! Unfortunately, break-ins are common in this area (and around the entire city). Make sure you stay safe and don't leave any valuables in plain sight. By the way, this place lights up at night and looks gorgeous then, too.

Today I got to see the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. We were on a tour of the town, and we stopped at the Fort Point parking lot for some photos. It was a typical cloudy and chilly San Francisco early afternoon, and this spot made for some wonderful memories. I would definitely recommend Fort Point for anyone wanting to look up at the Golden Gate in all its glory. It's certainly a sight to see! Tip from Lexi: Don't put your sunglasses on your head here- it's windy, and they'll get stuck! |
